Basics of growing your business online
To grow you business online you need Sales , not a surprise right ? You have to understand 2 Words : Conversion , Impressions 1. You need to get audience on your business , as someone who is starting out you have to understand you will rarely get any sales if only 100 people are visiting your website , tik tok , instagram or facebook page. There are probably 1000 different pages just like you . In order to get sales you need to get your Product in front of a lot of people who are intersted in your product . This means you have to get a lot of Impressions .Different ways to grow your business online
There are several major platforms for you to grow your business , Now i will tell you what you can do on those platforms to grow . There are 2 ways of going to it : 1. Inorganic (Paid) marketing 2. Organic (Free) MarketingInorganic marketing (Paid)
- Facebook ads (Meta ads) : These ads can be posted on facebook and instagram and works best for all kinds of business however you need to start with a decent budget for a couple of months .
- Google Ads : Google being the most used search engine on the world , you can rank for specific keywords for example- you can put ads for “Best business coaching ” and anyone searching for terms like , business school , coaching , business couching will see your business on the top.
- Email Marketing : Best for B2B business , also works to cultivate audience for B2C business as you can send offers and deals to your current customers – Most difficult and expensive form of marketing (if you are doing cold emails )
- Influencer Marketing : You pay or barter your product to influencers in your niche/industry , so they can post you and get audience for you . – Could be tricky , With rise of numbers of influencers it is a bit expensive and choosing a wrong influencer can be a bad decision as it might not yield any result.
- Linkedin marketing : Paying to linkedin so it shows your offer to selected Business professionals (selected by you)
Organic Marketing (Free)
- Instagram : Posting reels,images,carousel . Reels works the best ,even if you have images post them as reels as well. (Most famous form of organic marketing with exceptional growth ratio , a deep blog on this if available on website and I suggest to read it , as this is important and can consume a lot of your time , so save it now nby reading the Blog )
- Facebook : Posting videos and photos , and groups where you can find people related to your industry . (has it own marketplace-where you can post your products and get direct sales )
- Linkedin : Best for B2B Business , It is a professional Platform unlike fb,instagram,tik tok . You can find founders , Managers , decision makes and connect to them via connection .
- Tik tok : Post product / service videos which can get audience or blow up . (Strategically close to instgram but works better if you add keywords in your videos as people can search )
- Website (Essential) : You must have an website ! If you are starting from zero and do not have 10k followers in instagram , make a website ,it builds trust , looks credible and shows your product / service .
What is best for you business?
Are you a B2b or B2c ? If both which one do you want to target first? Do you have a product or service ? Physical or digital ? - Get as much views as you can get , this will drive more sales to business and could be scalable in long term
- Avoid doing everything and trying to automate it , Pick 1 post/upload – get feedback – iterate – post again see how things workout improve each week and double down on 1 platform , once you crack it you can transfer what worked to other platforms.
